Marine and Shipping
We provide subsea and underwater inspections, repair and maintenance services for our client's subsea or underwater structures and/or objects.
Table of Contents:

Underwater Inspection in Lieu of Dry Docking (UWILD)
UWILD is the process of inspecting a vessel's propellors, hull, rudders and sea chests while it is in underwater, rather than on dry land.
We ensure that vessels remain up to safety standards for the safety of the vessel and onboard crew.

Underwater Hull Cleaning
As time passes, ship hulls accumulate sea growth such as barnacles or seaweed. This reduces the performance of propellors and introduces unnecessary drag to the ship, causing the engine to expend more fuel than needed.
We are able to clear out these defects to restore the vessel's efficiency.
Sea Chest Cleaning & Propeller Polishing
A sea chest is a recessed, enclosed chamber built into a ship's hull below the waterline, acting as an intake point for seawater to supply cooling systems, ballast tanks, and firefighting equipment. Unnecessary growth will obstruct emergency situations and cause preventable issues.
A propeller is used to drive the vessel forward, and when enough time passes, sea growth will accumulate on it, causing the propeller to perform sub optimally due to the added unnecessary weight.
We are able to restore the propeller's performance.
Underwater Pre-purchase & Damage Inspections
Pre-purchase underwater inspections are conducted prior to the acquisition of a vessel to assess the condition of the hull and underwater components below the waterline. Damage inspections evaluate the extent of defects following incidents such as grounding, collision, or impact, supporting repair planning and insurance requirements.
Helping buyers and owners make informed decisions and identify any defects or damage.
Underwater NDT Inspections
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) employs specialized equipment to evaluate the condition and integrity of structures without causing damage. Techniques such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Cathodic Protection (CP) measurement, Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Flooded Member Detection (FMD) allow accurate assessment of material thickness, corrosion levels, and structural defects.
These inspections ensure that the vessel’s hull and underwater structures remain fit for service, compliant with safety requirements, and capable of continued operation.
Speed Log / Echo Sounder Replacements
A Speed Log measures the vessel's speed underwater and above ground, and an Echo Sounder measures the depth of the water underneath the hull.
Should replacements be necessary, Prima Subsea Services are able to conduct replacements and installation.

Underwater Hot and Cold Anode Works
Hot Anode Works involves welding the anode directly onto the structure while underwater with the help of our certified divers.
Cold Anode Works involves the installation of anodes without welding, and instead using clamps, bolts, straps or brackets with mechanical fasteners.
Special Inspection or Repair at Owners' Request
If the required scope is not covered by the inspections listed above, please contact us to discuss your specific needs.
